It specifies the recipe, but I used what I thought was a suitable fragant smoked Spanish paprika, which was really, really good. I used the amount demanded even tho I thought it might be too much for me, but it was just a wonderful, delicate smoky flavour to the dish also oikonomias color. Same with chili pepper flakes-I thought I would be sorry, using the amount requested and almost chickened out. Glad I did-that, too, was just right. I have this one change, which was simply to wait until the shrimp was almost cooked to add garlic, since don't mix garlic and high heat and burnt garlic is just plain nasty. As a compliment to the title I chose dry sherry instead of lemon, and because I appreciate the opportunity to do something other than lemon for change. I have this in parallel with a tossed green salad made this a wonderful, fresh, light but deliciously satisfying meals. Was this review helpful? [YES]

Drank Spanish white wine from the region of the Basque country, Xarmant Txakoli. It is a fresh, bright, lowish alcohol white that is slightly effervescent. A great supplement for this purpose.
